Anthotype Workshop with Kat Ryals

$15.00

Join us during Paradice Palase's inaugural exhibition, Paradise Express. On Saturday June 24th, exhibiting artist and Paradice Palase co-founder, Kat Ryals, will host a workshop on creating Anthotypes in conjunction with our first exhibition, which is centered around the human relationship to plants and landscapes.
Did you know you can make your own photographic prints using plants?? During this workshop out on the patio of Paradice Palase, participants will learn the basics of creating a photographic emulsion using plant materials. Participants are also welcome to bring large, green leaves of any kind, in order to create contact prints directly on the leaf.
The fee for the workshop helps to cover supplies.
Each participant will receive:
-Art Paper
-Brush
What you need to bring:
-Flower petals or berries (fresh!)
-Large green leaves (fresh!)
-Photogram materials (small objects that can be wedged under glass or other plant materials)
Optional to bring:
-Digital Positive Transparencies
While we will have all supplies on site needed to create an Anthotype, if you have a pestle and mortar, we highly recommend bringing it with you. Please also wear clothes that are okay to get dirty - emulsion may stain. We will also send you an email after you sign up with more detailed instructions. We can print digital positives for you - please email 1-3 high res images to be printed.

Please note that it takes several days to a week for the print to be fully exposed. Prints will be available for pick up or can be mailed after this time. Please email paradicepalase@gmail.com with any questions you may have. This intimate workshop is for 6-8 participants.
