Each performer brings their own unique style and influences to the Country-Americana-Folk genre, but the distinctly heartfelt lyrics the women write are a common thread that will bind the evening together beautifully. Erica Hanson's take on the genre is lighthearted and easy-going and allows the listener to take a mini-vacation from the stresses of daily life while enjoying her songs. As the newest songwriter in the evening's program, and a great storyteller in the making, she will warm up the night with her sweet songs and equally sweet smile. Karina Kern offers a more introspective and personal approach to country music, yet her witty humor balances the sometimes darker concepts and experiences she writes about. And despite the lyrical content reflecting the harsher truths in life, there is an obvious gentleness in her demeanor and in her sound that makes her easy to watch and listen to over and over again.Dayna Koehn will round out the evening with her bold, soulful vocals and skillful playing. Her foundation as a classically trained musician adds a complexity to her brand of country that is perhaps not so common in the more "audience-friendly" genre.
