Celebrate the arrival of summer with a mouth-watering Mexican meal and the warm ecclectic sounds of Salt Cathedral. The Wild Honey Pie is excited to welcome you and your loved ones to Guadalupe Inn on June 17 for three courses of food and select complimentary drinks in a vibrant, retro atmosphere, followed by a special performance by Salt Cathedral. Juliana Ronderos and Nicolas Losada’s moody, rhythmic dance numbers continue to defy genre constraints, mixing traditional pop with equatorial jazz and electronica and creating a sound that’s entirely original but still widely accessible. They emerged onto the electro-pop scene as Salt Cathedral with a debut self-titled EP in 2013, and since then, have released a slew of upbeat singles and EPs, all of which are filled with playful hooks and hot Caribbean vibes.
Ronderos’ light, bright vocal melts into the instrumentation, amplifying the carefree nature of their sound and encouraging listeners to lose themselves in the music the same way. Their live show combines instrumentals, electronics, and choreographed lighting for an immersive experience that begs you to get up and dance. “Go and Get It,” their newest single featuring Big Freedia, is introspective and self-empowering in message while embracing lush synths and cheerful, upbeat samples in the arrangement. It’s a big track with a soulful beat, and you won’t want to miss your chance to dance along when they play it live. Their last dinner party with us sold us super quick. Act now if you want to make sure you get a spot.
