The Wild Honey Pie warmly invites you to attend our upcoming dinner party with Alex Winston. Back in the day, the indie pop singer joined us at the Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont for our On The Mountain series, but this year Winston is escaping the harsher side of winter to join us in Los Angeles at Checker Hall. Her debut album King Con has yet to receive a follow-up and this makes us all the more excited for Winston’s reentrance into the spotlight which started last year with her single "Tourist." Winston also recently released music with Max Hershenow of MS MR as Post Precious, and the duo played a comfortable and intimate performance for our Buzzsession at Charli XCX’s home studio.
Is there anything more exciting than witnessing the rebirth of a talented artist? We place our bet on no. And if you need any more convincing, Checker Hall will be serving up its delicious Mediterranean dishes! We hope to see you there. This event includes a three-course meal, unlimited beer and alcoholic kombucha as well as a live performance by Alex.
“She sings with the brilliance of conviction, of knowing that she's the engineer and if someone's not aboard by the time she wants to pull out of the station, then that's just a whole lotta tough shit for them,”— Daytrotter
“Confidence in her own skin is something Winston revels in and turns into her most powerful weapon on her debut record, King Con. Her songs are undeniably poppy and well-produced but reject the ice-cream gloss or ambiguity of many other contemporary pop artists,” — Pitchfork
“Do: Listen to this song. Don't: Fuck with Alex Winston . . . Unlike her work on King Con, which was largely playful in Winston's idiosyncratic way, “Tourist” is downright mean as she takes aim at an ex who wronged her,” — Noisey
