The New York Youth Symphony Composition program, led by Dr. Kyle Blaha, has broken new ground in its acclaimed sessions for younger composers, giving them the chance to explore the world of composition and orchestration through seminars, individual tutorials, and workshops. The program also offers “the opportunity to take part in the creation of new music within splashing distance of its source” (New York Times).
The annual New York Youth Symphony Composition Date concert features original works by NYYS student composers, performed by young musicians from across its programs, and led by members of the Robert L. Poster Apprentice Conducting program. Don’t miss this chance to see a new generation of contemporary music stars at the start of auspicious careers.
