Poetic Computation Hands-On Workshop

Free

This hands-on workshop is intended for complete beginners with no experience of coding. You will learn the basics of computation, get familiar with command line and web programming, and explore the poetics of computation with other beginners and teachers from the School for Poetic Computation, NYC. Together we will uncover how coding is more than what happens behind your screen. Coding can be a wholistic computer practice, a new relationship you have with your technology habits and environment.

This workshop is presented in partnership with the Detroit Community Technology Project and lead by Melanie Hoff with support from Lauren Gardner, Neta Bomani and Taeyoon Choi. Please read about Poetic Computation: Detroit on our blog post.
If you have a mac laptop, please bring it with you. If not, computers will be available at the Allied Media Projects.

You are also welcome to join us at our Info-session on June 4 which will be held at the Commons Detroit.
